EnerSys Announces Sale of Six Million Shares of Common Stock by Certain Stockholders

READING, Pa., Dec 07, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- EnerSys (NYSE: ENS) announced today that certain of its stockholders, including affiliates of Metalmark Capital LLC and certain other institutional stockholders, have agreed to sell six million shares of its common stock to Lehman Brothers Inc. All net proceeds from the sale of the common stock will be received by the selling stockholders. EnerSys will not receive any of the proceeds. A registration statement relating to the common stock sold by the selling stockholders has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission and has become effective.
