EnerSys Reports Preliminary 4th Quarter Results & Announces Quarterly Conference Call

READING, Pa., May 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EnerSys (NYSE: ENS) the world's largest manufacturer, marketer and distributor of industrial batteries, announced today that for its 4th fiscal quarter of 2007, which ended on March 31, it expects to achieve diluted earnings per share of $0.22. This compares to diluted net earnings per share of $0.25 for the 4th fiscal quarter of 2006 and exceeds the previous guidance for the 4th fiscal quarter of 2007 of $0.15 to $0.19 per diluted share provided on February 7, 2007. Net sales for the 4th fiscal quarter of 2007 are expected to be approximately $414 million, which represents a 17 percent increase compared to the comparable period in the prior year. The Company anticipates releasing final 4th quarter and full year results for fiscal year 2007 on June 13, 2007.
